SEE REASONS WHY SUYA IS PREPARED AT NIGHT

Suya is a Northern Nigerian delight that has become a delicacy that is consumed all over the country. It knows no ethnicity, no religion and no tribe. This said, one thing you may have observed is that this street food is usually prepared in the evening. Why not in the morning or afternoon? Well, whoever, decided to kick off the preparation of Suya in the evening must be a genius because the marketing strategy is working. You find Nigerians buying Suya at this time. Accordingly, Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency shares 5 reasons why Suya is prepared in the evening.

It more attractive in the evening

When you returning from in the evening and you see the mallam or Aboki the fire of the suya blazing in the very busy or hectic evening. There is no way you will not be attracted or tempted to buy. Even when you didn’t plan to buy, you will.

It is when Nigerians hang out and relax

It is in the evening that most Nigerians hang out and relax. That is when they are close from work. Some don’t go home straight away. They hang out at your favorite hotel bar in Lagos with friends, and if there is a Suya spot around, they buy. If you setup in the afternoon, very few people will patronize you. You will be forced to move your suya business to the evening.

It is very tasty at that time

Suya is very tasty normally. But there is no way you can compare afternoon suya with evening suya, they are not mates. The warm evening weather, the stress of work and traffic all combine to make you savor the taste of suya. It is very yummier!!!

LEGAL PROTECTION FROM WORKPLACE SEXUAL HARRASSMENT

There is legal protection from workplace sexual harassment.  Workplace sexual harassment is commonly defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when:
  • Submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly, a term or condition of an individual’s employment, or
  • Submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as a basis for employment decisions affecting such individual, or
  • Such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.
Workplace sexual harassment can include a one-off incident or a series of incidents. Both male and female colleagues can either be the victim or offender. It is particularly serious when behaviour of this kind is initiated by any official who is in a position to influence the career or employment conditions (including hiring, assignment, contract renewal, performance evaluation, working conditions, or promotion) of the victim. Sexual harassment may also occur outside the workplace and/or outside working hours.

NIGERIA IS IN FREE FALL AND FREE FOR ALL - PERRY BRIMAH

Let’s be candid, Buhari currently knows only one subject: fighting Boko Haram. That’s all he appears to still be in good command of, and that, we admit with reservations. With due respect, if today Secretary to the Government SGF Babachir Lawal was to tell the president, “Sir, good news, out of six we only lost half-a-dozen,” I do not think president Buhari would have the patience to realize he just got played. We must be real with ourselves here, it is our lives at stake. Indeed Buhari has admitted to his weaknesses himself so why should we still be in denial. “I have age and military background behind me,” Buhari said, “Osinbajo has youth and intellectual capacity.” Age is not necessarily a merit especially when it comes to governing a NIGERIA. And the medically certified global functioning depreciations of age are rapidly complicated and aggravated by the stress and toil of chronic ailment. Old school military skills is what we have left and this important problem is telling on the nation. Astute critic, or better put, adviser Junaid Mohammed earlier this month said “the Buhari presidency is dead.” Let’s just be kind and say it is weak.

Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has described the Nigerian senate as “clowns” who have turned itself into a chamber that works with blackmail.
Onnochie made the remark while reacting to the recent decision by the Senate not to screen nominees sent by the President until Ibrahim Magu is fired as the Acting Chairman of the EFCC.
In a post on her Facebook wall, the presidential aide lambasted the senators, saying they have neglected their principal’s role of law making.

WRONG MEDICATION KILLS MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ANUALLY - WHO

Nigerian Pop Star TEKNO to Break In North America?

Last year, the Nigerian star Tekno heard an instrumental that reminded him of his breakout hit, "Duro." Though the producer, Krizbeatz, was planning to send the beat elsewhere, Tekno asked to take a crack at it. "Then I went upstairs and ate the beat up," the singer tells Billboard. "The feeling I had when I recorded that? I fell in love with my own song like it wasn't mine."
That single, titled "Pana," has gone on to entrap other listeners the same way it conquered its creator, accumulating 30 million streams between YouTube and Spotify. Veterans like Trey Songz and Ludacris have posted clips of themselves listening to the song on Instagram, and "Pana" also caught the attention of Imran Majid, senior vice president of A&R at Columbia, who signed the track and re-released it in December.
Tekno's connection with Columbia is the latest step forward in an inch-by-inch acknowledgement of the commercial viability of Nigerian pop in the U.S. Most of those steps have come via collaborations sprinkled over the last five years -- P-Square and Rick Ross, D'banj and Kanye West, Davido and Meek Mill, Wizkid and Major Lazer, Wizkid and R. Kelly. Nigerian-born Ayo Jay had a minor hit with "Your Number" last year, which got some attention when Fetty Wap appeared on one remix, and Chris Brown and Kid Ink on another. The best-known recent example of a Nigerian-Western team-up is Drake's "One Dance," which included Wizkid. Wizkid is now signed to RCA -- also the home of Davido and Ayo Jay -- with an album due out on the label this summer.

PRESIDENTIAL GOLF BREAKS: GOOD FOR AMERICA

On March 27, CNN reports, US president Donald Trump left the White House for a day at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, his 13th trip to one of the numerous golf courses he owns. The implication of the media’s mild obsession with his trips is that Trump is wasting time playing cow pasture pool when he should be attending to the duties of his office.
Former president Barack Obama came in for similar criticism from Republicans — including Donald Trump — over the 333 rounds of golf he played as president according to Golf News Net. That averages 41 outings per year, or one every nine days.
Personally, I don’t see the problem. I wish Obama had played more golf, and I’d be happy to see Trump spend seven days a week on the links.

HEALTH ALERT: SICKLE CELL ANEMIA A SILENT KILLER

Raipur, Chhattisgarh - Thirty-three-year-old Ramnath Sahu looks visibly distressed. The day before, his four-year-old son, Kuldeep, was diagnosed with sickle cell - a hereditary disease affecting the red blood cells.
"Don't worry my child, nothing will happen to you," says Kuldeep's 54-year-old grandmother, Ramvati Bai, as she caresses the boy in front of their home in the village of Akola, in Bemetara district.
Kuldeep's seven-year-old brother, Harsh, was diagnosed with the disease last year.

According to a 2013 report by the Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College in the state's capital, Raipur, 10 percent of Chhattisgarh's population is affected by the disease, with the state's indigenous tribal population disproportionately affected.

INSURGENCY: ABUBAKAR SHEKAU STILL ALIVE - MINISTER OF DEFENCE

The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali, has declared that the wanted leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group, Abubakar Shekau, is still alive and hiding in his fortress in Sambisa Forest.
He said that Shekau wears masks to evade being captured by security operatives.
Before the minister’s declaration on Tuesday that Shekau is alive, the military authorities had maintained that the Boko Haram leader had been killed by troops.
Ali said that Shekau’s tactics notwithstanding, the fugitive would be eventually caught, especially as the military had decimated the core of the forest, which served as the communication and spiritual base of the insurgent group that has killed and maimed thousands of Nigerians over a six-year orgy of violence.
Ali spoke to journalists after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari in a closed-door security briefing at the State House, Abuja.

IPOB: SENATORS MOVES FOR THE RELEASE OF NNAMDI KANU

Senators move to secure immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, Sambo Dasuki

A group of Senators have initiated moves in the Upper House to secure the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, and former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
The Senators plan to invoke the relevant orders and rules of the Senate to compel the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mallam Abubakar Malami, to direct the immediate release of Kanu and Dasuki.
Their argument is that if Malami could order the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ali (rtd) not to honour the summons of the Senate because of a court injunction, the Executive arm of government has no moral justification to disobey the court ruling on Kanu and Dasuki.
The first attempt by the leader of the Concerned Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume had on Tuesday last week alleged the importation of the vehicle by Saraki with fake documents.

Image result for Happy nigerians

The World Happiness Report (WHR) is out and it turns out Nigerians still seem quite happy.
The report, which ranks 155 countries by their happiness, ranked Nigerians as the 6th happiest people in Africa and the 95th happiest in the world. I guess it shouldn't come as a big surprise as Nigeria has a long history of being happy. Or as Fela put it, 'Suffering and Smiling.'
In 2003 the World Values Survey revealed that the world's happiest people lived in Nigeria. The study, which was carried out over a period of three years, reported that Nigeria beat more than 65 countries to claim the top spot. In 2012, a Gallup poll revealed that Africans were the world's most optimistic people. In Nigeria specifically, 88% of people were optimistic about their futures.

POLICE DEPLOYED TO SOUTHERN KADUNA LAMENTS FOR LACK OF WEAPONS AND WELFARE

Members of Nigeria’s police special forces on deployment in Southern Kaduna have accused police authorities of neglecting them, and failing to provide needed equipment as they confront skirmishes that have killed hundreds in the area.
Members of the unit, trained in Belarus, were drafted to check the persistent clashes between herdsmen and residents of Southern Kaduna communities.
But many told PREMIUM TIMES exclusively that their operational condition had become so unbearable that they now rely on extorting motorists in the area to survive.
