Any attempt to postpone Feb 14 poll is an invitation to anarchy – Baraje

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ,Alh Abubakar Kawu Baraje has said that the party will support the Nigerian masses in
rejecting any attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led-federal government to foist an interim government on the nation after the expiration of the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan and that any attempt to postpone the February 14 election would be an invitation to anarchy.
Baraje also a member of the Buhari/Osinbajo campaign organisation, said this in Ilorin, yesterday in a media interactive session on his 64th birthday while reacting to an alleged plot by the PDP to encourage Jonathan into handing over power to an interim head of state to be appointed by him.

He added that,”The masses are determined for the first time to change from bad government to a better government that would fulfil their dream. So I have a lot of hope, a lot of aspiration and I am feeling already very, very confident and hopeful not for myself but for the masses that are so determined.”
“A lot of things are wrong not only with the party but there is bad governance as being shown by the executive and the leadership of the PDP. And when we saw it, we made efforts to make amends, the amend was not forthcoming and then we decided that before Nigerians start blaming us for the offences that we never had a hand in it, for the offences we never committed, we opted out for a better political party”.
Come February 14,there would be a change of government for better, there would be a change of leadership in Nigeria for better, there would be a change in the orientation of Nigeria for better, there would be fulfilment of hope and aspiration of the masses in Nigeria.
He also declared that any attempt to postpone the February 14 election would be an invitation to anarchy, saying the APC is fully ready for the election and it would resist any plot from any quarters to scuttle it.
Baraje who passed vote of confident on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said that the commission has been very fair in its handling of the electoral process so far, adding that “INEC has for the umpteen time assured Nigerians of its readiness for the February 14 elections”.
His words, “those of us in APC are quite happy with what INEC is doing and as far as we are concerned we are ready for election and we have shouted to the whole world that any attempt to change that date, to postpone the election is calling for anarchy and we do not approve of anarchy, we would never support confusion.
He also commended INEC for extending deadline for collection of permanent voters’ card (PVC), noting the temporary voters’ card should be done away with because it is outdated.
