World Cup: Dede promises improved performance against Australia

Super Falcons goalkeeper, Precious Dede, has reassured Nigerians that they would see improved defending from the team in Friday’s second group match against Australia.
The Falcons defence gave away two cheap goals in the game against Sweden, failing to deal decisively with most of the set pieces against the team, africanFootball.com reports.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited ex-Governors Sule Lamido and Martin Elechi for questioning for alleged diversion of funds.
Lamido is to answer questions on alleged  money laundering. The allegations against Elechi border on mismanagement of the State/Local Government Joint Account.
Although Lamido’s invitation is dated June 9th, he is expected for quizzing on June 17th.

TUNISIA RESCUES 350 MIGRANTS HEADING TO ITALY

Tunisia’s navy rescued more than 350 illegal migrants off its coast and was searching for hundreds more on Wednesday after they tried to sail from neighbouring Libya to the Italian island of Lampedusa, the local Red Cross said.

The Presidency yesterday accused Senate President Bukola Saraki and National Assembly Clerk Salisu Maikasuwa of defying President Muhammadu Buhari to conduct Tuesday’s election.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu said there was a request for the National Assembly to move the time of the inauguration of the Senate for the meeting between the President and the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers to hold.

Nations Cup Qualifier: Enyeama raises dust over Kaduna venue

Nigeria captain Vincent Enyeama  has admitted he was unhappy with the choice of venue for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at home against Chad due to violent unrest in the state.
