HADIZA USMAN: READY FOR PROBE FROM PRESIDENCY

Hadiza Bala Usman, Managing Director,
Nigerian Ports Authority, on Thursday reacted to reports that the presidency has ordered investigation into the financial books of the agency.

A statement she personally signed and made available to DAILY POST, she said her attention was drawn to “malicious lies being bandied around by one Prince Henry Nwazuruahu on my person”.

NIGERIANS REACT TO DINO MELAYE'S CERTIFICATE SCANDAL

Photograph of Senator Dino Melaye’s NYSC days has attracted various reactions from Nigerians.
Melaye had uploaded an image while carrying out his mandatory service with other ABU graduates. He was spotted on blue shorts. This is to further justify that he graduated from the ABU.
Reports have emerged during the week that the outspoken Senator did not graduate from the department of Geography of the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria. 

I DID MY NYSC IN KADUNA SEN. DINO MELAYE CRIES OUT

Senator Dino Melaye has reaffirmed the authenticity of his Bachelor’s degree in Geography, stating that he did his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Kaduna State.
Amid the raging controversy over his graduate status, Melaye took to his Twitter handle to share a photo of himself at the NYSC gold camp in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.

ILE IFE MAYHEM

The police got more knocks yesterday for their “lopsided” arrests over  the March 8 mayhem that rocked Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The police, on Monday, paraded 20 suspects who allegedly participated in the mayhem, which involved Yoruba indigenes and Hausa settlers.
The suspects are mainly Yoruba, fueling the notion that the police might have taken sides in the fracas.

FEC APPROVES N102.08B FOR ROADS,RAILS AND OTHER PROJECTS

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday approved N102.077 billion and $1.79 billion for roads projects across the country and rail project in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Minister of Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola and Minister of FCT, Bello Mohammad, spoke with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

DFID donates medical equipment worth N73.5m to Yobe
The UK Department for International Development (DFID) has donated medical equipment and furniture worth N73, 543,358 million to Yobe State Government.
The medical equipment which were handed over to the State Government through the State Team Leader of MNCH2, Mr. Zanna Omar Ali and were received by the State Commissioner for Health Dr. Bello Kawuwa on behalf of the State Government.

FG TO REFUND EXPENSES TO STATE GOVERNMENT ON FEDRAL ROADS

Mr Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing on Thursday pledged the commitment of the Federal Government to refund expenditure on the execution of federal roads to state governments.
Fashola, who stated this in Ado-Ekiti during a courtesy visit to Gov. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state, said the planned refund followed request by several state governments.
The minister said he was in the state to inspect ongoing Federal Government road projects.
